mutants still draw breath, there can be no peace. While
obscene heretics' hearts still beat, there can be no

Skulls' Catechism of Hate, Verse 1 of XXV
Space Marines are the finest warriors Humanity has ever known. Their skill, bravery, their commitment to the Imperium are unquestioned. And of these warriors, only the elite are chosen to serve in Terminator Squads, trained to operate in the most dangerous of battlefield conditions and in the dark vacuum of starship boarding actions. It is usually the chapter's 1 st Company who are picked for this honour – Marines who have proved their courage time and again in countless battles across the galaxy.

Terminator Squads are issued with Tactical Dreadnought Armour. The Marines are armed with Storm Bolters and Power Gloves, Assualt Cannon and Chain Fists – the best armament the chapter con provide. Each suit is many centuries old. Each bears the scars and medallions of ancient actions and is treated with the reverence of the chapters most sacred relics. The right to wear this armour is a high honour for a Marine: he carries the memories of the chapter's past heroes into every battle.
Terminator Squads are required only in the most extreme situations – such as boarding a space hulk to exterminate the aliens that infest it. They are a Chapter's final resort, the last bastion that stands between the Imperium and those who threaten Mankind.

In the annals of many Chapters are written the tales of defiant stands by Terminator Squads, facing the enemy when their brothers have fallen, rising from the rubble of a bombarded emplacement to halt an armoured assault. Scorning fear, laughing in the face of danger, they defy Death itself to save their brethren and the honour of the Chapter.
